#375: Non Instant Messaging Use

People that don't log into their IM at work annoy me.  This is a fast and fun way for communication and when everyone is using it except for a few, there is no reason for them to hold out, just so they can "hide" from people in that no one can tell if they are in the office or not or how long they have been away from their desk.  To me, this is lame.  Severity: 2

#374: Improper Package Opening

When there is a "tear hear" spot on a package of chips or Clif Bar or something and people attempt to open the item some other way, that annoys me.  Severity: 2

#373: Ear-Pluggers on BART

I don't like when people put their fingers in their ears to block out the BART tube / tunnel noise.  First of all, though it's unpleasant, it's not that big a deal.  And for these people for which it is a big deal, they should either get earplugs or where big headphones as I do which allows you to mute the noise a bit and listen to music.  Instead of looking like a fool and embarrassing themselves, these people need to spend a few cents or just man up a bit.  Severity: 2

#372: 2 Strike Standing Up Inflation

People used to stand up at baseball games with 2 strikes only during crucial moments of a game.  Now, every 2 strike count, the home fans feel they need to stand and  go crazy.  It's been devalued and it's time for people to calm down.  It's a long game.  Severity: 2

#371: God Bless America

This 911 tradition of singing in the 7th inning stretch during a baseball game has worn out its welcome.  I'm tired of it and it's time to retire it so that if something bad happens again, we can bring it out.  As it stands now, we will be at a loss with what inspirational lameness to perform should another terrible event happen.  Maybe a moment of silence before every game will be the next foolish gesture.  Severity: 3

#370: Crazy Email Colors

I don't like when I get emails from people with all sorts of pink and purple fonts and some lame picture in the signature area.  Mostly seen from secretaries.  Severity: 2

#369: Low Bread Supply at Trader Joes after Sunday Rush

Monday evenings are a good time for me to shop at TJ.  For some reason, the store by me is nearly decimated of its bread supply.  Look like cold-war Russia or Florida before people begin their pre-hurricane hording.  I don't see why they can't keep some reserve supply, or at least resupply the store earlier in the day Monday as opposed to having practically empty shelves.  Severity: 2

#368: Overuse of the Suffix -gate

I am the only one that is tired and ceases to find amusing after 30 years the suffix of -gate applied to any scandal that might come up?  I mean, it was cute and original maybe for 20 years after Watergate, but the charm has been lost on me finally after reading a WSJ headline about "Antennagate" regarding the iPhone.  Journalists: please think of something original and stop rehashing this old trick when you can't think up another way to describe some scandal in your articles.  Thanks.  Severity: 1

#367: Adding Machine Usage

At my job, I'm in the midst of major accountant action and there's often a flurry of adding machine noise which annoys me because I don't see the need for have to have a receipt tally of your adding and subtracting.  Turn off the printer and/or use Excel or a regular calculator for this stuff.  These people are living in the past when it was cool to be using a high-tech adding machine to "close the books"  Severity: 2

#366: Unnecessary BART car movement

I don't like when people feel the need to switch BART cars for no reason.  In my mind, the only reason to move cars is if there isn't a full seat for you to have no one to sit by or if there is some scummy or smelly person(s) in the car you want to get away from.  But I often see people moving cars and it seems wasteful and anti-social.  Severity: 1

#365: No Cocktail Sauce in New Zealand

For a country that is so big into fish and chips, it annoyed me that I could never have this for dipping anywhere that served this dish, which was about everywhere and often the only thing worth getting.  I don't see how it can't exist in this country, given how complimentary it seems (to me) to this food, but they only have tartar sauce there.  Once in a bar when I asked for it, they said they didn't have it, but I guess this woman must have had others ask for it because she said she'd mix me up some, but it was more like Russian dressing, though I did appreciate the effort.  Were I to move here, I would have to ship in some or make my own and bring it with me to the fish and chips shops if eating there.  Severity: 3

#364: Slowdown for E-toll

People that slow down to almost a stop when then go through the Fastrak or other electronic toll booth because they are scared it won't register their toll tag annoy me.  Because not only will it read your toll at normal speeds, but even if it doesn't, nothing will happen to you as you didn't do anything wrong and they just manually will charge your account via video review.  Severity: 3
